Globalization is the wolf in sheep clothing. Disguised as ‘uniting’ the world. But it is killing Africa. A western philosopher by name of Plato warned. That the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery arise out of the most extreme liberty.
So is there extreme liberty in Africa? Because there is definitely evidence of tyranny and slavery. You see globalization like a small business doing business with a big business. The big business has the power to dictate terms. It can raise prices to stifle the growth of a small business.
Globalization undermines the power of African states in this way. But we still see African statesmen signing ‘agreements’ with big smiles on their faces. With the likes of China and the US for example.
Africa lags behind the rest of the world on the basis of most economic indicators like the level of foreign exchange reserves maintained and the volume of exports. And black people remain economically oppressed. But funny enough white people live comfortable lives in Africa.
What do you think happens when African States sit on the table with the likes of China? And should Africa close its borders and be allowed to develop independently ?
I am reminded of Emperor Haile Selassie l speech to the United Nations. That until bigotry and prejudice and malicious and inhuman self-interest have been replaced by understanding and tolerance and good-will. War on the horizon.
